My rating: 4 of 5 stars

CHARACTERS: 4 out of 5
PLOT: 4.5 out of 5
WORLD BUILDING: 4 out of 5
STORY FLOW: 4 out of 5

What sold me on this book was the cover. I know they say, "Never judge a book..." and all that, but I did. It hinted at mystery, supernatural and had a gothic hint to it. I was browsing Amazon when I happened across it and I clicked on it right away wanting to know more.

This book ticked every box for me. A lover of all things supernatural, paranormal, fantasy, mystery and time travel this book touched on each. The characters were likable and I adored her grandfather. He friend I had to warm to but that didn't take too long.
I loved the link to Jack the Ripper too and have been fascinated with all things Ripper since I was a teenager. As I said, this book ticked every box.

There is something for everyone in this, there is even vampires, witches, fae and many other supernatural creatures to tickle your fancy.

Highly recommended!

The Celtic Curse: Newgrange -- By D.J. Doyle

The Celtic Curse: NewgrangeThe Celtic Curse: Newgrange by D.J. Doyle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Characters: 5 out of 5
Plot: 5 out of 5
World Building: 4.5 out of 5
Story Flow: 5 out of 5

Where to begin with this one? Hmmm, well let's see. Jess is a young woman who has been haunted for years with recurring nightmares. This one image that plays over and over in her dreams that both frightens her and intrigues her. With the encouragement of one of her teachers, she decides to have hypnotherapy so that she can travel back through time with the help of Past Life Regression.
It is after this she gains a little clarity, but this new information she has takes Jess and her friends a little further than she thought it would. To Ireland.

It is while in Ireland that things really spin out of control and shit hits the fan for Jess and her friends. An innocent night out after a strange day sightseeing puts our group of friends into freefall and starts the ball rolling in the upcoming fight.

This is a tale of love, loss, murder, betrayal and getting a healthy dose of 'exactly what you deserve'.

The characters are well thought out and there are some amazingly animated ones like Fr Jack (whom I love! - and if you do too then you will most certainly want to check out this author's short story Christ On A Bike.)

The setting is well described and leaves you feeling as if you are walking with them as they take the steps towards their fate.

The plot moves at a steady pace with next to no dragging and if I had to pick one hole in this it would be that I would have wanted to see more of Fr Jack and the Lads.

An excellent 2nd novel by the very talented D. J. Doyle.

Highly recommend.

If you want to get your hands on this you can pre-order it now from Amazon!

Book Review ** Secrets and Souls by Kelly Stock **

Secrets and Souls (The Soul Guide, #0.5)Secrets and Souls by Kelly Stock
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Story: 4 - 5
Plot: 4 - 5
Characters: 5 - 5
Flow: 4 - 5

Overall: 4 stars!!!

Bertram and Mellissa are both very well developed. I came to this book knowing nothing of these characters as I have not yet read The Soul Guide. But I will now that I have read and enjoyed this book.
This is one of the reasons I love taking a change on new indie authors.
the storyline is well thought out and told with a flair that allows the author to pull the reader effortlessly along and into the book.
Now that I have the backstory, I am eager to read more about these two characters and the world they live in.
I would recommend this book to those who have the guts to take a chance and a leap of faith on a new author. To those who love well-developed characters and who love fantasy.

OVERALL: A RAVING, ROARING, SHOUT IT TO THE WORLD FIVE STARS!!!

Where do I start with this book? How about this I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!
I love Mike's character, he is witty, funny, grumpy (at times) and his internal monologue had me laughing out loud at times. I loved how the book unfolded with all the individual hunter's stories and yet each was seamlessly stitched together to give us this fantastic piece of work.
It is the humour and the interaction between the characters that makes this stand out for me above other books I have read in this genre. Hints of romance but not full on PNR was also a nice change and told so skillfully that I was really rooting for Mike.

Many of the creatures we know and love are given a unique twist in this and with this, it gave added excitement as we no longer knew what rule applied to our favourite monsters.

I hope there are more of Mikes tales to come.
Ms Stanhope you have a new fan.

Book Review -- Brigetta Moons - GUILTY

OVERALL: 4 STARS (I read the whole book, I just couldn't find it here in Goodreads to link)

After reading the blurb for this book I was intrigued. I don't normally pick books if I am not grabbed by the cover (sorry, I am a cover lover and this one didn't grab me). The blurb was the reason I decided to take a risk on a book genre I do not normally read.

I had my fingers crossed that the book would meet my expectations...it did, and then some!

The characters are well developed and varying parts of me connected with various emotions of the characters as I made my way through the book. This book has a healthy balance of suspense, emotion, and action. It is plot-driven, yet it does not lack in the area of character development.

The story moves a fast enough pace that you find yourself ending one chapter and fighting sleep just so that you can find out what happens in the next. The signs of a well-written page-turner.

I will warn though that there are detailed mentions of rape and even though it is not over the top in graphic violence or is explicit it does let us know just exactly what happened. This may be a trigger for some.

To sum it up...this is a well-written book about injustice, revenge, and someone getting just exactly what karma calls for.

READERS FAVOURITE AWARD for Forest of Ancestors, Book One in The Guardians Series

I was sitting by my laptop editing away when *ping* I got a notification that an email had just landed in my inbox. Thinking it was the usual "Sign up now for..." stuff I ignored it and kept my mind focused and worked on. But, being the inquisitive (some might say nosey) person I am I decided to take a peek at it. After all, it could be important...right?

Well, look at what I found to my delight...

My debut novel, Forest of Ancestors - Book One in The Guardians Series had just been read and reviewed by the guys at Readers Favorite and had been awarded an amazing FIVE STARS!!!
(Hence the badge above to prove it)

Along with the badge was this fantastic review:

Reviewed By Liz Konkel for Readers’ Favorite
The Guardians: Forest of Ancestors by K.A. Denver is the first book in a new series, Forest of Ancestors. Eli is a witch in a group of warriors and has dedicated his life to helping non-magic people with things they can't handle. His biggest problem is not finding closure over the fact that his now ex-girlfriend left him with nothing but a letter saying it was over. When Eli discovers someone following him, others in the coven reveal similar experiences. Surely this isn't a coincidence. After someone close to Eli is murdered, a connection is revealed to the Dark Witches that were thought to have disappeared long ago. When one of their leaders sees a vision of a war approaching, Eli turns to his four closest friends for help.

K.A. Denver brings the snark and humor to life in this fantasy adventure with a vast range of delightful and in-depth characters. Eli is a tragic hero who is still dealing with the death of his father, but he's also grounded and family orientated, putting his close relationships with his familiar, Parker, and his four best friends first. Eli has a lot of attitude and walls, but he's also loyal and emotional. This core group of friends often blends together in a way that family does where they play off each other's banter and attitude, but there's so much love between them. They support and respect each other, and are exactly what Eli needs in his life. Each character has their own personal flaws, vastly different backgrounds, and personalities that make them easy to tell apart, but it's easy to see how they formed the bond they have. Every character has a personality that is easy to connect with, even the ones that never speak. The animals are completely charming, such as Arthur and Parker, who tug at your heart and are just as in-depth and emotional as the other characters. The Guardians is a dazzling read that's clever, funny, and has a vast world of magic that comes to life in every scene.

I have always been proud of my debut novel, it was after all my first born. The first I had garnered enough courage to actually publish.  If you haven't read it yet, it is available on Amazon HERE or on various other platforms including Barnes and Noble HERE.

CHARACTERS: 4 / 5

WORLD BUILDING: 4.5 / 5
STORY FLOW: 5 / 5

OVERALL SCORE OF 4.5 / 5 (If Amazon allowed it)

First thing I want you to know is this is not your usual werewolf saga.

The Story is wrapped around Bell and Keith, one a werewolf and the other...? Well, you will need to read the book to find out...this is a review not a SPOILER. I do hate Spoilers!

The plot in this novel is smooth, and I loved the detail given as well as the descriptives. This two things for me made this perfect for worldbuilding in this novel. There was enough action, adventure, and romance to keep the story at a steady pace. Not one scene dragged, nor did I feel the need to skip parts. This is a lengthy read but each word counts.

I love the whole lore of Werewolves and this fantastic piece did not let me down.

REVIEW

This story revolves around a demon named Jassassah and her job on earth. What is that job you may ask? Well, it is to whisper into the ear of mankind, encouraging them to do the sinful, wanting, debouched things they aspire to do while whispering doubts, self-loathing, and self-harming thoughts into the ears of those at a rocky and delicate stage in their lives.

Jassassah is that negative little voice that whispers into our ears attempting to penetrate our minds and corrode our souls.

This book, the first in the series, is set in London and we follow the demon as she rides the tube whispering into the ears of those around her. The story is broken into separate stories, it is told as she whispers to each unsuspecting victim and we get to bare witness to how they react to the whispers. Some take in what she urges them to do and act on them, while others rebuke the whispers and ignore her. Each story ends with a little information on what happened to the person after they got off the train.

Some of the stories are sad, some funny, and some a little upsetting, but all touch your heart in some way. These stories are well written and I love how the author uses Jassassah's voice.

This is a great read and one I would definitely recommend for lovers of lore and the paranormal.

The Demon of London is a solid 5/ 5 for me.

REVIEW

This is Book 2 in the Nightwalker Series and like the first, it centers around two characters, one a vampire and the other a human.

I bought and downloaded this book while on the last pages of the previous one. I had been so invested in the lives of these two people that I just had to find out where the twists and turns were going to take them. I was not disappointed.

Now I have to confess, and it pains me to say it, but I have no love for our female lead, Mare. In the first book I found her irritating, childish, and at times immature, but I kept reading for the love of the storyline and all of the other characters who are all fantastically written.

In this book, the 2nd of the series, I prayed she would change and that the dislike I had for her would wane. As I read the first few chapters of this this book I was begining to think there was no hope for her and there were signs that she was going to be the same annoying Mare from the 1st book. But then it happened. It started with splashes of subtle differences, then her reactions both physically and emotionally to events playing out around her showed that this character was maturing. Hope lit in me that maybe all was not lost, and Mare may yet win a spot in my heart. So I like her? Not really, but I hate her less if that makes sense? I am looking forward to Book 3 of the series to see if this new found appreciation continues.

The other characters in this book were the stars for me. Andre (my current BBF), and the introduction of other supernatural creatures opened this story up and turned it on its head.

This story is a unique take on the vampire/human love match and the story that plays out as the love between these characters unfolds is both exciting, and at times, heartbreaking.

Dark Vengeance is like an intoxicating mix of Twilight and TrueBlood. It draws you in, teases you, captivates you, and holds you tight as it takes you on the ride of your life.

Lovers of #PNR #ContemporaryFantasy #VampFiction and #ShifterFiction will devour this series...I highly recommend you grab it and take a bite...

OVERALL SCORE: If Amazon allowed, it would be a solid 4.5 out of 5 Stars.

REVIEW
I have to hold my hands up to being a sucker for a good PNR, and I was pleasantly surprised and certainly not disappointed with No Rest For The Wicked.
Elira (the female lead) is strong and likable as well as quite relatable in aspects and thankfully was not the usual whiney damsel of the PNR genre. Anthony is romantic, bold, and strong. He is a well-developed character and I found myself quickly adding him to my ever growing BBL (Book Boyfriend List).

The Story moved at a steady pace which held my attention and I loved the balance of dialogue and narration.
As I am not a fan of **Spoilers** I will leave the story at that. But, I will say that M. L. Sparrow has accomplished a magnificent feat. A fantastic PNR with a strong and engaging story that did avoid dipping its toes in the usual 'Instant love - Just add water'.

I would highly recommend this little gem for lovers of PRN, low fantasy, and Paranormal.

Review of How to Market a Book by Joanna Penn

How to Market a BookHow to Market a Book by Joanna Penn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great resource for all self-published authors. I have so many pages marked and highlighted for future reference and the information within will come in very hand for my next publication.

Joanna Penn covered many things in this book that I either had not thought of or had not given enough thought to. A lot made sense and although some of the suggestions were common sense it went to prove that common sense is not that common as I have seen many of my fellow authors struggle with them, including myself.

I would highly recommend this book.

Review -- Mark Woods, Fear of the Dark -- FIVE STAR!

Fear of the DarkFear of the Dark by Mark Woods
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved how this collection of stories were compiled and each of them told.
The fact that some were from various anthologies was irrelevant as I had not come across them before, if honest, I don't think I would mind even if I had given the way they were stitched expertly together using the old man and your boy story to tell them.
Each story told pulls you deeper and they get creepier and creepier until you hit the last, and boy is that a doozie.
I have to say I enjoyed this book. If you want a book that is a quick read, with strong character, and plot then this book is for you.
I am happy to say, Mark Woods...you know how to tell a story!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Storyline: 4/5
Plot: 5/5
Characters: 4/5
World Building: 4/5
OVERALL RATING: 4/5

I read the blurb for this book and thought I would give it a go. I love superhero movies, I love comic books, so why not?
I am not going to give a story breakdown as I see a lot have as I think it can give away little spoilers. What I will say is I was surprised with this book. It was not what I was expecting in so many ways and better than I could have hoped in others.
I see some mention the graphic violence and graphic sex but personally, I thought it was hitting just the right amount and at just the right level for this type of genre (but then again I think I have grown desensitized over the years).
If you love action, suspense, over the top characters, and a great paced story then this is for you.
Justin Bohardt has created a fantastic novel, and to me, not your Atypical superhero, kid friendly, type either.

An hour of horrific bliss -- Highly recommend! -- Hades' Gate by the talented D.J. Doyle

Hades' GateHades' Gate by D.J. Doyle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this little novelette! From the descriptions of the locations to the relationship dynamics of the team it all fit together to make and an amazingly creepy tale of greed, love, fear, and loss. Not to mention awesome music references haha.

If, like me, you are a book worm and you are heading off somewhere (or if you have a quiet hour to yourself), this is the perfect read for you. Just the right amount of horror, with a splash of gore, and a sprinkling of humor makes this little gem a solid 5 out of 5.

Jessica Wing -- Children's Books and Young Adult Author

I would like to introduce to you the fantastic Jessica Wing, author of Young Adult Fantasy and Children's Books. Jessica has a few pieces out there at the moment and has a new release coming soon.
(Keep your eyes peeled for that as I will be sharing more as the time approaches)

Which writers inspire you?

The authors that inspire me are Robert Jordan (The Wheel of Time) and Brandon Mull (Fablehaven). They are both great at world building and character development.

What are you working on at the minute?

My current focus is book two of the Tamer Chronicles. That is going to take a backseat when book one gets back from the editor.

What’s it about?

Book one in the Chronicles is about a group of friends journeying together to overthrow a dictator that has decimated the east. Along the way, they overcome loss and strive to become the heroes they were meant to be.

What genre are your books?

Most of my books are young adult fantasy with the exception of my nonfiction book and Artie.

What draws you to this genre?

I have loved reading fantasy since I was a kid. I just love being transported to a made up land!

When did you decide to become a writer?

In fourth grade, I wrote a short story about a girl who lost her dog. My teacher's mom bought the story. That was when I knew.
Do you write full-time or part-time?

I would like to write full-time, but right now, I am just writing part-time.

What is the hardest thing about writing?

The hardest thing right now is finding the time to sit and write. I'm also not super great at world building and have dedicated a lot of time to practice that.
What is the easiest thing about writing?

The easiest thing about writing is probably just bouncing ideas off my husband. If I talk to him about my book, it helps me figure out plot holes.

What would you say are the main advantages and disadvantages of self-publishing against being published or the other way around?

I like self-publishing because it is easy and convenient. It is hard to do all of the legwork in advertising yourself. Building a following takes a lot of work.

Where can you see yourself in 5 years time?

In five years, I would like to have the original trilogy for the Chronicles finished.

To learn more about Jessica you can reach out to her HERE on Facebook,  HERE on Goodreads and her Amazon Author page HERE.

   Artie the Armadillo
(There is no preview available for Artie the Armadillo, you can view it by clicking the image above.)

Thank you, Jessica, for taking time out from your very busy schedule.

D. J. Doyle -- Horror Author

Today we have an interview with the amazing horror / thriller writer D.J.Doyle. In it, we find out what process she follows and how she has evolved since the publication of her first book.

HOW MUCH RESEARCH DO YOU DO FOR EACH BOOK?
For most of what I've written and what's in store, I've been researching these my whole life. I've visited all heritage sites that my Celtic Curse stories are all based around. Also, the Banshee, Paganism and the Puca, again are all topics I've read about for years. To be able to create an enjoyable story, with that knowledge, is amazing.
HAVE YOU WRITTEN ANY OTHER NOVELS IN COLLABORATION WITH ANY OTHER WRITERS?
Not yet, but I think it's on the cards. One with 2 amazing authors about different timelines focusing on one item. Another could be one of those authors and write a hormance or rorror hahahaha
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE EVOLVED CREATIVELY SINCE YOU PUBLISHED YOUR FIRST NOVEL?
A lot. I had no idea what I was doing when I started and finished TCC: Banshee, I just wanted to tell a story. I didn't know about self-publishing, the different types of editing, editing tools, marketing.... I could go on... I might as well say everything! Now, I know more and confident in the process, I feel what I put out there is hopefully more marketable and I'm able to promote better. We'll see.
WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU FIND ABOUT THE WRITING PROCESS?
Editing for one, I could read many others and make suggestions and spot errors but when it comes to my own, I can't do the same. I can't see the wood for the trees, I'm too close to the story. The other part would be marketing, I'm full of ideas and knowledge, but it takes time and effort, something I seem to lack at the moment.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST THING ABOUT WRITING YOUR LATEST BOOK?
As a horror/thriller writer, what's easy about any of my books? LOL. I'm currently writing a novel and novelette. The novelette is from the perspective of a serial killer and what drives him. It's extremely difficult to 'be' inside someone's head never mind it being the mind of a murderer. And my novel, well I don't want to give anything away but with loads of murders, sex and kidnapping, it wasn't easy.
HOW LONG ON AVERAGE DOES IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE A BOOK?
My first took years with many gaps of not writing so it was my own fault. I still take more than I should but as I work full-time it is a part-time job. What I've learned to do is use the short breaks I have to write short stories. Also, Campnano is helping tremendously with word count. I push myself, probably too much, and will typically have a completed goal at the end, whether it's a first draft or a short.
FOR YOUR OWN READING, DO YOU PREFER EBOOKS OR TRADITIONAL PAPER/HARDBACKS?
I used to prefer paperback but ebooks are great because the storage is virtual (I can't fit any more books into my house yet) and less expensive. I still buy paperback from charity shops when I see a good deal. I recently bought Dracula, Jaws, Slugs and a few more horrors that I've read in the past from the library but wanted my own copy.
WHAT DO YOU DO TO GET BOOK REVIEWS?
Facebook has numerous groups that provide honest reviews, I tend to get a lot from them. I have also contacted a number of horror reviewers and have asked them for it. Goodreads is also a great tool that I think is underrated. Although FB is great, the groups all contain authors, so Goodreads is great because it has the readers. I know authors are readers too, but having a true reader's review is best in my opinion.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GOOD/BAD REVIEWS?
When you receive your first 'critical' review, it does knock you a bit. Then I read that these are important for authors along with the good and great reviews. It shows that the book has not only been read by friends and family and it is also the first reviews readers go to on Amazon.
SINCE WE LAST SPOKE YOU RAN A  GOODREADS BOOK GIVEAWAY, HOW DID THAT GO? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT?
I think it went okay. I made a few minor errors that I wouldn't do again and yes, I will do it again. The giveaway has added multiple 'to-read's for my book which will take time but good to have them. I recommend to do it globally and to give away one 2 or 3 copies.
DO YOU THINK GIVING BOOKS AWAY FREE WORKS AND WHY?
As I only had one book out, I think the exposure is good. There can be downfalls but I think it's worth the risk with the recommendations above.
IF YOU COULD HAVE BEEN THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR OF ANY BOOK, WHAT WOULD IT HAVE BEEN AND WHY?
Ohhh.. what a question! Probably Lord of the Rings. What an imagination and with such originality, depth, amazing characters, and an ending to die for... need I say more?
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ASPIRING WRITERS?
Never give up, find a great editor, and don't feel embarrassed asking for help and support. In my opinion, Indie authors are the best at supporting one another as they know how difficult the process can be.

*** Book review for Dark Promise - by Nikki Landis ***

Dark Promise (NightWalkers #1)Dark Promise by Nikki Landis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Let me see...where to start!

Well, would it be a teller if I was to say I have just finished Dark Promise and I have already bought Dark Vengeance (NightWalkers #2)?

There are a few things I love when I have the time to read and two of them are Vampires and HOT protagonists.

This story pushes your buttons right from the start. We are introduced to Andre and his world of Night Walkers. How he can feel and sense where danger lurks and how his heightened sense brings him into contact with Mare. A naive young woman whose life if in danger.

I won't tell anymore as I think it poor taste to give spoilers.

STORY: 5/5
MALE PROTAGONIST: 5/5
FEMALE PROTAGONIST:3/5
PLOT: 5/5

Would I recommend this book to anyone else? Of course!

The etiquette of reviewing a book

I have been wanting to write about this for a while now and having read an article today on another blog I decided to take the plunge and offer up my opinion on what is and is not good reviewing etiquette.

On main selling platforms like Amazon there is a star rating, and depending on how much someone liked or disliked your work they will rate it using this method. Now some will rate this way without leaving a reason WHY. For authors, this can be annoying. We want to know why you liked/disliked it.

I know many are of the opinion that reviews are not for the author to read, but rather, they are for readers. I disagree. We write for ourselves, to begin with, but when published we put our little bundles out into the world for others to pick up and enjoy (hopefully).

If a reader loves the book, we want to know what parts they loved. Why? So that we can write stories with characters like this in them. So that we can expand those stories and those characters and flesh them out in future possible projects or characters like them.

But, and this is important, equally if you do not like the book, we want to know WHY. This is a learning curve for us. As an independent author, I write my novel, I send it out to my beta readers. On their feedback I make changes and when I am happy with it I send it to my editor. I personally design all my own covers and make them too, a lot of time, money and effort is put into my work. As authors, we are continually improving our craft and the more we write the better we become. #FACT

Whether we want to admit it or not, reviews are important to us. It gives us an indication that all that time, money and effort was worth it and if the review is a negative one or on the low side if an explanation is given we can learn from that and make necessary changes.

That being said, how you as a reader review is important. I have seen two-star reviews given and for no other reason than the fact that the reader did not finish the book because 'it wasn't their cup of tea' or because 'they did not like a particular character in the book' and as an author, I find this annoying.

There are preview functions on Amazon that allow you, the reader, a peek inside to see if this is the type of writing, style and story you like. It is at this point you make the informed decision on whether you should buy the book or not.

As a rule, if I buy a book and find that I don't enjoy it (badly developed character, poor structure/pace, or zero plot arc) then if I can not leave a constructive 3-star review, I simply leave none. But, what I will do is try and contact the author. I message them and explain why I did not leave a review. Now I am not suggesting everyone should do that, I do it as a curtsey, from one author to another.

Reviews count. So let's be sure that the ones we give are accurate and informative.

* * * AUTHORS HELPING AUTHORS * * *

I am a strong believer in helping people who need it, however I can. For me, that means having this blog and my social media platforms and using them to promote the works of fellow #Indie authors.

A little while back I ran a series of author interviews and they were a great success, so I have decided to do it again only a little differently. If you have a blog tour coming up, a book release or even a cover reveal then I would love to help support you with that. All you have to do is contact me via Facebook messenger or on a group I co-admin there called → Indie Publishers Unite ← (you need to answer a few questions before being admitted. The group is there to help support #IndieAuthors).

I look forward to hearing from you 😁

Love #Romance? Then you will love this fantastic book by @CarolDevine

Mariah (Horse Whisper Novel Book 1)Mariah by Carol Devine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First of, I'd like to point out that the last time I read this type of genre (Romance) I was in my late teens, and that was many moons ago. I would have devoured these types of books like they were the oxygen I needed to breathe. But as my life changed, as too did my reading material. I moved from Romance fiction to non-fiction and myths, lore, and legends.

That is the reason I choose this book to read, and I am glad I did. Mariah is set in a small town called Grizzly Springs and revolves around two main characters Mariah McBride, a disgraced FBI Agent and Kellan 'Shane' Youngblood, a steamy and sexy Horse Whisperer.

Both characters are likable and I felt my old excitement grow further I got into the story. There is no denying the chemistry between these too as they fill a void in each other that they themselves never knew they had. The sex scenes were EXACTLY as they should be for a romance novel, not too detailed nor too long (If you are after more detailed and longer scenes you need to be browsing the Erotica sections rather than Romance IMO).

The Story was well plotted which ensured that the story flowed well without dragging or feeling like it was rushed. I hate spoilers so I will not give any away. What I will say is that this book has given me a taste of my youth and the passion for once more indulging in Romance.

It is a well deserved 4 stars!!

Now THIS is witch fiction at its BEST!

Blessedly Bound (An Elemental Witch Trials Novel Book 1)Blessedly Bound by Lucretia Stanhope
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by Lucretia Stanhope and I have to say it will most certainly not be the last. She has a beautifully descriptive way of describing her female protagonist Gwen and her disobedient and opinionated familiar Lewis.

I am always drawn to witch fiction and sometimes it can be difficult to find a really good story. Most run along the same thread. Not this book. This book pulls at your heart from the start and as it progresses you find yourself confused and torn. Do y ou root for the good guys or the bad guys? Who at times, doesn't seem so bad (or I am just twisted, who knows).

If you want a book that will hook you, pull you in, and leave you wanting more ... this is the book for you. It ticks all the boxes for me, humor, magic, a female protagonist, cheeky familiar and action. What's not to like?

Well deserved 5 stars ...
